DIRECTIONS

Scouts BSA

The Endangered Wolf Center is a great place to bring your scouts and immerse them in a rare learning experience. Programs are offered daily except Tuesdays. Reservations are required. There is a non-refundable $100 deposit due at the time of booking. The final payment based on your group’s size is due two weeks before your program.

1-25 people – $175
26-50 people – $350
51-75 people – $525
76-100 people – $700

Programs with tours around the animal habitats may not be available in the Spring to accommodate the arrival of wolf pups.

Mammal Study Merit Badge

Requirements: 1, 2 and 4g | Duration: 2 hours

Through a specialized education program and slide show, scouts will learn what distinguishes a mammal from all other animals, how the animal kingdom is classified and the stages of the food chain. A tour to see some of our endangered animals is included.

Requirements: 3c | Duration: 2 hours

Learn all about the five endangered canids in our care here at the Endangered Wolf Center. Scouts will be given all the information needed to write a simple life history of one of these animals. A tour to get to see these animals is included. Each scout will need to bring paper and pen to take notes during the presentation.

Requirement: 5

Scouts will be given the opportunity to complete a conservation project for the Endangered Wolf Center that will directly impact our animals. Please call for ideas and more information.

Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge

Requirement: 1, 3 and 6a | Duration: 2 hours

Learn about the wildlife management of the Endangered Wolf Center and hear how everyone can help conserve and care for wildlife and wild places, starting in your own backyard. While on a tour of the wolves and other animals here, scouts will have the opportunity to observe five of the most endangered and unique canids in the world.

Nature Merit Badge

Requirements: 2 and 3 | Duration: 2 hours

Scouts will discuss how plants are important to animals. They will also find out about food chain and build a 4-step land and 4-step water food chain. A tour of our animals is included.

Requirement: 4b | Duration: 2 hours

Scouts will identify three of our wild canids. They will also make a plaster cast of a wild mammal. A tour of our animals is included.

Girl Scout Programs

We’re proud to offer fun, high-quality educational programs that help your young animal and nature lovers qualify for badges.
Programs are offered daily except Tuesdays. Reservations are required. There is a non-refundable $100 deposit due at the time of booking. The final payment based on your group’s size is due two weeks before your program.

Daisy

OUTDOOR ART MAKER
Reveal your inner artist by joining the Endangered Wolf Center outside! Scouts will take a walk through the forest to listen to nature, visit and sketch some of our animals, and create their own art sculptures to take home. This program fulfills all of the badge requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Brownies

LETTERBOXER
Join the Endangered Wolf Center for a letterboxing adventure! Letterboxing is similar to a treasure hunt. Solve clues, find hidden treasure, and create your own word scrambles! Find the letterbox and go on a mini tour of our animals. This program completes 4 out of 5 badge requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Juniors

ANIMAL HABITATS
Scouts will investigate what animals need in their habitats and how the Endangered Wolf Center provides natural habitats for the animals in our care. Your private guide will provide in-depth information about our canids and the program includes a game, a tour of some of our animals, and a den craft to take home. This program fulfills all of the badge requirements and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Cadettes

NIGHT OWL
Come for an evening adventure at the Endangered Wolf Center! Explore the world after dark, play games, and draw your own nocturnal creature to take home. Once it’s dark, we’ll try to get the wolves to howl and then have fun around a campfire. This program fulfills all the badge requirements. Please note: We will not view our animals during this program, but will attempt to hear them. Call 636-938-5900 to schedule a Night Owl program as these are not held during regular business hours.

Seniors

VOICE FOR ANIMALS
Become a voice for animals at the Endangered Wolf Center! This program includes a classroom activity, a tour of our animals, and an animal husbandry game. Learn about the challenges that animals are facing and brainstorm solutions. This scout program fulfills all of the badge requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Ambassadors

ECO ADVOCATE
Become an eco advocate for canids in this Girl Scouts adventure! Find out about issues facing canid species today and brainstorm solutions to help. Communicate your message through art to help spread awareness. This badge includes a classroom activity, a tour of some of our animals, and an art project to take home. This program fulfills all of the badge requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Cub Scouts

Introducing children to the wonders of wildlife and the places they call home is one of our great joys here at the Endangered Wolf Center. That’s why we’re excited to offer a number of programs to help Cub Scouts complete their adventures while enjoying the enriching experiences that come with them.

Lion

MOUNTAIN LION
Join our education staff and docents for a fun-filled adventure to find animals out in the wild! This program includes a classroom activity, a tour of some of our animals, and a hike. This program fulfills all of the adventure requirements and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Tiger

TIGERS IN THE WILD
Come learn about the different canid species that live at the Center. This program includes a classroom activity, a game, a mini tour of our animals, and a hike to view native plants and animals. This program completes all of the adventure requirements and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Wolf

PAWS ON THE PATH
Join our education staff and docents to learn all about the species that live at our Center! Scouts will go on a hike where they will have the opportunity to see a variety of birds, insects, and other animals. After exploring nature, scouts will visit our resident canids. Scouts will also create their own maps! This program fulfills all of the adventure requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.

Bear

FUR, FEATHERS, AND FERNS
Scouts will see and learn about two of the most endangered mammals in the world, the Mexican wolf and the red wolf. Before seeing our animals, scouts will have the opportunity to hike a trail looking for plants and signs of wildlife. This program completes 5 out of 7 of the adventure requirements and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Webelos/Arrow of Light

INTO THE WOODS
Head Into the Woods at the Endangered Wolf Center! This 2 hour program includes games, hiking, and activities all about trees! Learn how to identify Missouri plants and trees and find out about all of the different uses we have found for trees. This program fulfills all of the adventure requirements and lasts approximately 2 hours.
